What is an everyday problem that i could base a furniture design around?

A simple everyday problem that should have been solved (or has been solved badly) or something that would generally make life easier if it was different, that i could design a piece of furniture around for a design competition? Thankyou!!

1. What to wear.
2. children Maybe a durable couch that is easy to keep clean at any color and maybe even a secret passage that goes through the couch for children to hide that won't distrube the adults sitting on it. Tables desigend as caves?
3. SPACE!!! How much do you have? you need to adjust your F&F to space available. Function is important. Lighting can dramaticaly change a SPACE. Warehouse,penthouse,outhouse.All have fixed peramators that can be "tuned" Focus on function,and TUNE to maximam effect. xx
